Anil Kapoor never says die…or color. In his 35-year profession as a main man, the ever-youthful Kapoor who has played everything conceivable from an extremely introverted man in Eeshwar to a large man in Badhaai Ho Badhaai to the Chief Minister in Nayak, now leaves on yet another untried way.
In his prospective film Mubaraka, Anil will play a turbaned Sikh surprisingly.
Says the energized performing artist, “It would be a honor to play a Sardarji. I have an astounding part in Mubaraka. I go into this film directly after I finish the shooting of my TV serial 24. Mubaraka would be the perfect anxiety buster after the serious activity and show in 24……
Anil has great regards for director Anees Bazmee. “He has made some of the biggest hits in the comedy genre without resorting to vulgar double meanings. Mubaraka too is completely free of any crudity, and that’s what I love about it. It is one of the most brilliant scripts I’ve come across in the comic genre.”
Significantly, this time writer-director Anees Bazmee would be directing a script written by another writer, in this case, by Balwinder Janjua.
Says Anil, “This is a rare occasion when Anees is not directing his own script. And what a script! I also get to work with my nephew Arjun Kapoor. We play chacha-bhatija in the film……..
