Belvoir Vale Open Competition

The competition started with the catchweight, with Norton, Bosley, Congleton, Felton and Lincoln all taking part. The ends, pulled on top of the fresh ground were not particularly long pulls, but Norton pulled well to finish second.

The second weight of the competition was the 640 kilos competition. Again there was some good pulling, with Norton finishing in first place to continue where they left off from the previous week.

The 680 kilos competition was one of the most fiercely contested weights of the day. Which Norton eventually won.

The final weights of the day were the 600 kilos and 620 kilos competition. The 620 Kilos saw Felton take first place, with Norton finishing in the runners up spot.

East of England Championships

Sunday saw a good turn out of teams for the East of England championships

In the 640 kilos Norton were very strong this week, making big improvements from the previous two weeks competitions, and stormed through to win without losing a single end.

In the 600 kilos Norton agian proved too strong and won the weight with out losing an end.

National League Week 1 - Hanging Bridge TOWC

Teams in action at this weeks competition were Sheen, Norton, Congleton, Hanging Bridge, Lincoln, Bosley, Sheen Ladies, Leicester and Northants, Belvoir Vale Ladies and Bedford Ladies.

The 600 kilos ended up in Bosley, Hanging Bridge and Norton fighting it out for the win. The eventual winners were Norton, with Hanging Bridge finishing in the runners up spot after some good pulling from all teams.

The 680 kilos and 640 kilos both also saw some excellent pulling take place between all teams. As these were the last couple of weights of the day, the fatigue was starting to creep in. Norton finished in the runners up spots.
